We are ready for an action-packed 2026 season! Pop Warner National has informed all associations that the start date for the 2026 season will be July 15, 2026. This decision did not come from the local level. Carlsbad Pop Warner will do everything in our power to ensure that all of our athletes meet their certification hours and are eligible for certification.
2026 Age-Based Divisions (no weight restrictions)

A child's age on July 14th, 2026 is her/his age for the season.

Teams will be created across all age divisions:

Your player’s age as of 07/15/2026 determines which age/division they will fall into.

These divisions are subject to change based on WCC Pop Warner’s final determination based on numbers across all organizations.
Divisions:
9U - 7, 8, 9
10U - 8, 9, 10
11U - 9, 10, 11
12U - 10, 11, 12
13U - 11, 12, 13
14U - 12, 13, 14
In a continuing effort to ensure that CPW players have access to the most current technology and equipment, we will continue to offer the reduced cost of tackle football registration and will require participants to purchase their own helmets, pants and shoulder pads. Helmets that were certified prior to 2024 need to be reconditioned before practice begins July 15th. Please contact the CPW equipment manager ASAP, as we will only have one group reconditioning order. The equipment you purchase will be yours to keep and can be used for future seasons.
PRACTICE INFORMATION
Practices will be 5 days per week starting the July 15th, 2026. Once games start towards the mid-August, practices will be 3 days per week with games on Saturdays.
