West Coast Conference WILL NOT schedule any certification before or after August 21st unless there is prior approval and extenuating circumstances.

IF AN ATHLETE DOES NOT SHOW ON THE 21st THEY WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE UNTIL CERTIFICATION IS COMPLETED

✓ All TACKLE & FLAG football players as well as cheerleaders must be present at certification.

✓ Make sure that all athletes are age appropriate by using the Pop Warner Easy Birthdate Checker 2021.

ONLY PLAYERS, CHEERLEADERS, TEAM REPRESENTATIVE AND

VOLUNTEERS WILL BE ALLOWED INSIDE THE CERTIFICATION AREA. ALL OTHERS

WILL BE ASKED TO STAY OUTSIDE THE GATE IN FRONT OF THE

SCHOOL

COACHES & PARENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INSIDE THE CERTIFICATION AREA –

✓ All associations will be weighed-in/certified as one group at their scheduled time

✓ Each association will be directed to an area to prepare their teams for certification and should arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time.

✓ Players are to be dressed in light weight shorts and t-shirts. All Mighty Mite players will be weighed without shoes. No equipment or pads are to be worn.

✓ Cheerleaders are to be dressed in team spirit wear. Hair to be worn away from the face. No hats, no sunglasses.

✓ Players and Cheerleaders are to be lined-up according to the team’s roster. Player ID Cards must be in the same order.

✓ The player and cheerleader will stop at the table and state his/her name and jersey number (football). The photo ID of each player and cheerleader will be identified before the player steps onto the scale (Mighty Mite only football).

✓ A board member should be available to eliminate horseplay, excessive talking and noise.

✓ Only WCC Conference, President, Player Agent, or team Business Manager shall be allowed in the certification area.

✓ The team representative needs to wait for all the team’s players to escort the players and cheerleaders outside the gated area back to the parents.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BRING TWO COPIES OF YOUR ROSTERS TO CERTIFICATION. IF THE INFORMATION IS ON MORE THAN ONE SHEET PLEASE COPY FRONT TO BACK SO IT IS ONE SHEET. IF THERE IS INFORMATION IN THE WEIGHT COLUMN (MM ONLY) PLEASE WHITE OUT. WEIGHTS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR CHEER or UNLIMITED. ONE COPY OF THE ROSTER WILL BE KEPT BY CONFERENCE THE OTHER WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU AND USED BY THE TEAMS FOR THE PRE-SEASON GAMES. IF YOU HAD ANY PLAYERS PRE-WEIGH OR CHEERLEADERS PRE-CERTIFY YOU MUST BRING THAT ROSTER WITH YOU TO CERTIFICATION.

✓ If a problem arises regarding the player’s ability to make weight the player will be directed to another scale for a final weight determination by a commissioner, and the issue will be addressed with the president. It will be the president’s responsibility to discuss the player’s options with the parent.

✓ If a problem arises regarding a cheerleader’s ability to be certified, the cheerleader will be directed to the League Cheer and Dance Commissioner and the issue will be discussed with the ACDC. It will be the ACDC’s responsibility to discuss the issue with the parent.

✓ Any attempt to falsify a player’s weight or cheerleader’s age during certification shall be cause for the disqualification of the player for the current season and possible suspension of the coaching staff.

TEAM BOOKS

Advise your parents of this requirement and cut-off date NOW.

All team books and Player ID Cards MUST be present at certification day. Player ID Cards will be used during the certification date for MM, Age based and Cheerleaders. No Player ID Cards – No sign off on certification.

✓ Player ID Cards and Rosters MUST be in the same order

✓ The players picture must be attached or printed on the Player ID

Card. ( DO NOT TAPE OVER THE PICTURE. AFTER THE PLAYERS AND CHEERLEADERS ARE CERTIFIED YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO FULLY COVER THE PICTURE WITH TAPE. IF YOU PRINTED THE PICTURE DIRECTLY ONTO THE ID CARD YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAPE OVER THE PICTURE.)

In case of any unforeseen circumstances it is recommended that you bring a camera with an SD Card and tape with you. If a player or cheerleader’s photo cannot be verified-the player or cheerleader will not be certified and will be dropped from the roster.

ROSTERS

Your team books do not need to be given to the person certifying your teams but do need to be with the team at all times. Player ID Cards MUST be in the same order as your rosters and will be used to certify the team.

**If not, we will take the next team in line while you get yours in order.

✓ During football certification the weights of the Mighty Mite participants will be hand written on the 2 rosters provided and the Player ID Cards.

✓ During cheer certification, the participant’s name will be checked on the two rosters, the ID Card stamped at the corner of the ID Card and signed by the certification volunteer.

✓ Both rosters for each team will be collected by West Coast Conference and you will be given one roster that will be signed. Make sure someone is available at the end of the day to pick up your copy of the roster.

✓ This signed roster is the roster that will be used for the pre-season games

✓ You will also use this roster to type in the recorded weights into Affinity for the final roster approval. All Mighty Mite weights must be entered and rosters submitted for approval by August 23 rd. Conference will keep the second roster to verify your typed-in weights.

AFTER WEIGHT CERTIFICATION

Once your teams have been weighed-in/Certified please put the correct weights into Affinity and submit your teams for approval. All teams must be submitted by August. Once all the information has been input please email your Conference Rep and let me know your teams are ready for approval. Once your rosters are approved make sure to print out a copy and place it in the front of your books. A Certified copy of the roster must be in your Team Book at all times.
